4 Crochet Lace Headband

I used this pattern to make Kenzie's crochet lace headband, I just used a simple chain around to modify the pattern into a headband. It took me awhile to get figure out crocheting with crochet thread and the tiniest hook, but it was worth it. Now if I could just figure out how to keep it on her head for longer than 5 seconds....any suggestions?

1 Baby Bow Ties

Whoever said you can't make crafts for little boys, didn't know about pinterest. I have been boy crafting it up!  I made these little bow ties the other night and they were so fast and easy. The felt one is a no sew, and the others took a matter of minutes. I changed the sizes to make them a little bit smaller. And I used an alligator clip instead of a clip on earring. The best part of this project is you can use up all of your fabric scraps! I plan on making lots more. Along with these projects:
Appliqued Tie Onesie
Little Boy Suspenders
Baby Legs
Carseat Cover
Leather moccasins
Moby Wrap

I might not be blogging quite as often...

3 Birthday Celebrations

I'm officially 24! The morning started off bright and early. Nick had to take his last final at 7am, so I got to open presents at 6am! Nick got me a bunch of kitchen supplies that I've been wanting. (Canisters, citrus juicer, sifter, and a craft circle punch). For lunch we went to Benihana's, which was delicious as always. I have them to thank for my very prominent popper belly now. And last but not least, shopping at the new City Creek Center, which is absolutely gorgeous. I'm planning on picking up Nick lots from his internship in SLC this summer just as an excuse to go back and shop. It's been the best birthday yet! I love spending time with my little family.

And now to cash in on my birthday foot massage!

1 Crochet Fox Beanie Pattern

This fox pattern is now available!

I've been busy creating new patterns for my shop. I have about 10 other ideas that I hope to create soon. But let's be honest, these things take time! It took me all day yesterday and today to create and write this pattern. Can't wait to put a little boy head in it soon. (I'm 20 weeks today!)

1 Easter is My Favorite

Kenzie was a pro Easter egg hunter! We took her to 2 Easter egg hunts and she absolutely loved grabbing eggs and putting them into her basket. She kept saying, "more, more, more!" It was adorable. Until the sugar tantrum hit...But we had the best Easter! We decorated eggs, ate lots of candy, wore springy dresses to church, went on lots of walks to the park, and ate an awesome dinner.

Nick and I watched this video. The real reason we have Easter. I'm so grateful for my savior Jesus Christ and his eternal sacrifice and atonement for us. I'm so grateful that I'll get to spend eternity with my wonderful family. If you want to learn more about my faith, click here.

6 I Love Being a Mom

"No other success can compensate for failure in the home."
-David O. McKay

I'm a stay at home mom and I couldn't be happier, but I didn't always want to be. I remember in high school telling my parents that I was going to travel the world, have an awesome career (as an inventor), and get married and have kids when I was done with all my big adventures. I got married when I was 21 and had Kenzie when I was 22. My life didn't turn out quite how my high school self wanted, but it turned out exactly how I want it now.

We had Kenzie one day after our 1 year anniversary and I couldn't be happier. But I didn't always want kids right away. I remember when Nick and I were engaged telling him that I wanted to wait 2-3 years before having kids. Because I wanted to travel and go on adventures with Nick before real life hit us. My life didn't turn out quite how my engaged self wanted, but it turned out exactly how I want it now.

We found out we were pregnant with our second in December and I couldn't be happier. But I didn't always want a second one so soon. I remember Kenzie being very difficult for the first year of her life. I will admit that there were definite moments when I wanted a job just to get away from poopy diapers, spit-up, and the screaming, but I knew that no career or amount of money would outweigh the blessings of being a stay at home mom. Looking back I don't remember all the poopy diapers, spit-up, and screaming. I just remember the baby smiles, cooing, jabber, and exciting milestones. And I can't imagine how I would feel if I had missed any of those moments. After Kenzie, I wanted to wait at least 3 years to have another baby.  My life didn't turn out quite how my new mom self wanted, but it turned out exactly how I want it now.

Once I had Kenzie there was no going back. No going back to work. I didn't want to. There was no way I was going to let somebody else raise my child. I understand that everyone is in different situations and it's not always possible for them to stay at home with their children, but for me there was no other option in my mind then to stay home with my precious baby. It's definitely the hardest job I've ever had, but it's the best decision I've ever made.

I can't wait for my little boy to be here! I know my job will get a lot harder with two, but I'm ready for this new adventure in my life. It's going to be hard waiting 4 more months to meet baby B!

I am so grateful to all the wonderful mothers in this world and their example to me.
Thank you.
