6 Currently Crocheting

I was just thinking the other day I wanted to make Kenzie a backpack and just happened upon this cute pattern. Other than that I'm on a bit of a crocheting hiatus. I'm trying to simplify my life with less craft projects and more cleaning, cooking, organizing projects. I know boring, but needed.

We're headed to Arizona and Mexico tomorrow and I am ready for some warmer weather! I'm looking forward to the Phoenix Zoo, swimming, tacos, kinder eggs, and staying up late with my sisters. See you in a week or so!

2 My Little Sous-Chef

I'm sorry there haven't been any new crochet posts lately. I'm working on some orders for people and working on some New Year's resolutions. Like cooking more.

She's a wild child. Her hair and face are all the proof you need.

4 Crochet for a Cause

I have been looking for a crochet service project lately so it was perfect when my mother-in-law emailed me about this project. I worked with special needs kids in high school and college and really just love them all. If you click on the picture it will take you to the website explaining the project. It also lists the different states that are participating and when the deadline to submit scarves is. The website also has lots of patterns you can use to make the scarves.

The Utah deadline is February 15th. And as of December 6th they only had 93 scarves out of the 300 they need. So, who's with me? I'm going to make at least 3 scarves. How many are you going to make?

2 Over the Weekend

After a nice warm week, it snowed over the weekend! We were really excited because it meant we got to do this:
and this.
 She loved it!

It needs to snow more. I can't get enough of her in her purple puff snow suit!

3 A Year of Crochet

I think I went a little overboard in 2011 with crochet! I've had so much fun learning new crochet stitches and creating some of my own patterns. The highlight of my year was definitely my LEGO baby blanket and my big Granny Square Sunburst Afghan. I hope this year will be as productive as last year...we'll see!

0 Christmas

We spent 10 days in Oregon this year for Christmas. Here are some of the highlights of our trip.
Kenzie saying "more, more" after she opened each present.

I was spoiled this year! I can't wait to learn all about my new camera and make lots of cupcakes with my new Kitchenaid mixer.
Wings and Waves Waterpark. Coolest waterpark. The slides come out of the 747 on top of the building. If you ever visit Oregon, you have to go. Definitely my favorite part of our trip.
The Children's Museum. So many fun interactive exhibits for kids.

We also went ice skating, went shopping in Portland, went to Saturday Market and Falafel, had pizza and movie night at Grandma's, went on a date to the taco stand and Sherlock Holmes, played lots of games, and ate way too much food. We're so grateful to be able to visit family. Tomorrow it's back to reality--school, work, laundry, dishes, cleaning, etc. Hope everyone had an awesome Christmas break!
