    this is so cool!! i love your tutorial! putting a pin in the 4th chain to mark what is actually the 4th chain is a GOOD idea!!

    What are the approximate dimensions of this blanket? I'm trying to figure out how much bigger to make it for my son... and - what about the individual blocks? How big are they?

    I had the same question as Sarah-What are the dimensions of the blanket? I guess I could make a square and then try to estimate it? Love this pattern and so glad you posted the directions. Thank you!!!

      This blanket is 24 inch x 36 inch. The dimensions of just one lego is about 3 inch x 4 inch.

    Wonderful idea! My son love Legos and I love to crochet, although I've never been able to follow a pattern. I got started a few days ago (StarWars colors-black, grey, red & blue), and with the help of your wonderful tutorial its going beautifully! Thank you for sharing!!

      I used a little over 2 skeins for each color. (So you'll have to buy 3 of each) Except I only used 1 skein of white.

    THANK YOU SO MUCH!!! I saw this on Pinterest, pinned it, and immediately started following you! I just tonight (January 29) finished crocheting the ponchos I made for my 2 oldest granddaughters for Christmas. The grandsons (5 of them) are a little bit jealous and I had been thinking about what I could crochet for them. This is PERFECT! I can make it a square at a time at work, and if I start now I may be able to finish by this coming Christmas, LOL! Thank you again, may you have a blessed year.

    Are you doing white border BEFORE connecting the squares together? (it doesn't look like 2 rows of white)

    Lovely blanket. Regarding left handed crocheters/knitters - I have a left handed friend who taught herself to crochet using a right-handed book and a mirror!

    I have 5 grandchildren--4 girls and only 1 boy. The girls are easy, but I have the hardest time finding good boy things to make. My boy is 6 and he loves Legos, so this is perfect. I've just started crocheting again after many years, but I will give this a try. Thank you so much for sharing this pattern and the great tutorial.

    This is amazing! One question, Did you chain 1 before you did a single crochet around? Did you start the single crochet on the short side or on the long side? I've never really single crocheted around anything so I feel like I'm just guessing a little....

    I think I would use Black for the connecting color, so I could make the gray blocks white...more true to lego colors...LOVE THIS!!!

    I find it rather funny that everyone is making these for little boys, lol. I'm a girl and I LOVE Lego's! I have many memories of playing with them with my cousins and sister when I was younger.

    Thanks so much for such an awesome tutorial, not only am I working on this Lego blanket but it helped me figure out a stitch on a different pattern :P

    My daughter, now 22, is still Lego obsessed and wants a blanket. Any suggestions on a potential finished size for an adult blanket or quantity of blocks to make in each color? Any help would be appreciated.

    You're welcome! Just to let you know on size, the baby blanket pictured above is about 2 X 3 feet. I used 9 skeins of yarn, and there are 64 blocks. So to do an adult size blanket would be A TON of blocks. I haven't attempted this yet because it would take forever, so good luck if you do!
