3 Minions

Whose excited for Halloween?! I know I am. I made these Minion hats and Gru scarf over the weekend for my cousin's kids. I used this pattern for the hats. And the scarf was super easy, here is what I did. 

Yarn: Gray and Black medium weight yarn

Hook: Size J

Row 1: Ch. 19 sts. 

Row 2: Hdc in the 3rd ch. from the hook, hdc in each st across. 

Row 3: Ch. 2 and turn, hdc in each st across.

Row 4-8: repeat row 3.

Row 9-11: Fasten on black and repeat row 3.

Repeat from row 3-11 until your scarf is to your desired length. So simple and quick!

You could probably whip these up in a day or two, so if you are like me and wait until the last minute to get everybody's costume done, this is a fast and fun last minute costume idea.

I really want to start blogging more regularly again! Sorry for the absence, but now that the weather is cooling down and we are spending our days at home more I am going to try and share more crochet ideas and craft projects with you. 

I've been getting so excited for the Holidays this year. Kenzie is old enough for it to be really exciting and I have been decorating and getting into the spirit of things. I made the alphabet banner and Halloween banners the other day and they are now available in my etsy shop.  I have made them available as a finished product, but if anyone is interested I can make the pattern available as well. 1 The Fourth

We had no idea what we were going to do for the fourth the morning of, but by the end of the day it turned out pretty perfect. We had a low key morning and didn't brave any parades. The kids took a 4 hour nap in the  afternoon (what a dream)! We spent our evening at the park barbecuing, playing in the water, and doing sparklers. It was a day filled with family, food, and fun. Nothing better. 

0 Soccer Mom

When Nick and I were dating we loved to talk. We would stay up well past curfew having talk-a-thons. One of those conversations was about our future kids. And how we would put them in soccer. So this past Tuesday when Kenzie had her first soccer game, I was thinking how crazy fast three or so years goes by. Sometimes this world seems so surreal. I try to take a step back and take in these moments, these memories. I love, love, love memories. I love trying new things, going on adventures, spending time with my little family, and capturing those memories in pictures and journals. I want to give my kids every opportunity to try whatever they want and to be whatever they want. I hope that they get to experience all the happy adventures this world has to offer them, just like my parents did for me. And for all I know, she is going to be the greatest soccer player in the world.

1 We've Moved!

We recently moved to Salt Lake City and are loving our new location. We are currently working on painting, unpacking, and slowly putting our home together. It's a process that I really would love to share with you. But for now, here are some photos of our fun time at Liberty Park the other day.

⇑Kenzie does not like splash pads that have really high fountains, so the Canyons is a great place for her to play in the water without getting it in her face. 

We love spending time as a family. We are excited for "real life" to start after being in school for so long. I have a few crochet projects to share with you, but I usually don't do a lot of crocheting in the summer time. Summer is my favorite season. We're all looking forward to road trips  swimming, shaved ice, barbecues, rodeos, carnivals, sunsets, lemonade, baseball, and family.

Kenzie is three! She is such an amazing little girl. Her favorite things to do are playing with friends, going for walks, playing at the park, going to the library, and playing monsters. She prefers Spider-Man to princesses right now and loves to eat hot dogs and marshmallows. She is such a good big sister and starts singing to Benson whenever he starts to cry. She comforts him by saying, "It's okay brother boo, I'm right here. It's okay." She is very polite, kind, and smart. And her energy is never ending. 

Kenzie has a great sense of humor. She picks up on funny lines in movies and then quotes them (so proud!). Her favorite movie quote is from Despicable me, when Gru says "knocked ooover." She'll say this multiple times each day trying to get a laugh. She loves to sing songs and she has a great little singing voice. Her favorite songs are Taylor Swift's "We Are Never Ever Getting Back Together" and Adele's "Rumor Has It."

I couldn't ask for a better kid to be my baby. We love you Kenzie girl!

1 Quick Update

I have not blogged in over a month! Sorry, but here's why. We are graduating in April! Nick got a job in Salt Lake City, so we are desperately searching for the perfect place. Which is proving to be impossible. (Especially with two screaming smidges). But we are hopeful! We are in the process of de-junking and getting rid of everything we own.

I will hopefully have more time for this blog once summer hits and we're settled, but as for now send happy thoughts my way because moving is not as fun as I thought it would be.
