3 Nesting

I know that nesting usually means for the baby that's coming, but I never got to nest with Kenzie. (I was too busy working and graduating from college). So this past weekend we went to one of my favorite places, Ikea. And we loaded up on things for Kenzie's room. She loves her bookshelves. And I love how she can reach the bottom one, and the top one is for her special books. (The ones we don't want her to destroy).

Nick and I love books and I'm so happy that Kenzie loves them just as much. This morning when I got her from her crib the first thing she did was point to her books. She spends about 30 minutes a day flipping through her books and "reading" them.

Here is a video of her when she was younger "reading" her books.
(she's sniffing it at the end because she had some scratch and sniff books and did it to all her books)

0 Better Than a Headboard

My Husband is amazing. He is so talented and creative. Before we got married we would talk a lot about marriage. One thing we always said was even though both of us weren't perfect, we were perfect for each other.  So he created these prints for our room instead of having a headboard.

If you remember from this earlier post I made the yellow ruffle pillow from his old t-shirt!  I love decorating our little home with bright, crafty things that make our apartment unique and personal.  If only we could paint the walls!  My next project will be the living room/Kenzie's room.  It's only been about 2 years since moving in.  I'll get our apartment all cute just in time to move out!

0 Menu/To Do List

This is a fantastic idea, and pretty inexpensive too. All it takes an old picture frame, a sheet of 12x12 scrapbook paper, and some stickers for the lettering.

0 Ruffle Throw Pillow

I was SO excited when I found this ruffle throw pillow tutorial.  Especially since it cost nothing to make!

You can find the tutorial here. It is a little time consuming, but so worth it. I'm going to try making more and hopefully the ruffles will turn out a little better. But from being made from an old t-shirt I'd say that this project was a success!
